The UK’s Chessington World of Adventures theme park is about to welcome a world-first, with Deadline reporting pland for a £17m (US$20.5m, €20.2m) land based on the Jumanji franchise.
Following in the footsteps of the Jumanji stand-alone attraction at Gardaland in Italy, the plans are part of a long-term exclusive agreement between Sony and Merlin to develop rides, lands, retail outlets and themed hotel rooms based on the iconic IP.
“What could be more exciting than bringing the global hit Jumanji film franchise to life within the single largest development Chessington has ever seen,” said Tim Harrison-Jones, divisional director at Chessington. “We know what it takes to create the ultimate adventure for our guests.”
