Scruffy Dog Creative Group has landed a significant contract with the upcoming Six Flags theme park at Qiddiya, a major entertainment project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The deal will see the leading creative design and delivery company lead development design, as well as handle the build, delivery and fitting of several flagship installations, thematic elements and animatronics.

The contract, worth more than US$20m (€18.2m, £16m), was awarded by Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI), a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction and Saudi Almabani General Contractors (AGC) and is an extension of the companies’ joint venture in Saudi Arabia.

BBI’s global footprint and construction expertise, partnered with AGC’s reputation in the region, further solidifies the credibility and significance of the collaboration, while the project's sheer size and scope reflect the immense trust placed Scruffy Dog and cements is position as a key player in the Middle East’s themed entertainment sector.

“Scruffy Dog Creative Group is excited to utilise its outstanding creative fabrication and build capabilities to bring this project to life,” said Scruffy Dog projects director Malik Al Asadi.

“With our unwavering passion, expertise and commitment to pushing boundaries, the team is ready to exceed expectations.”

Scruffy Dog CEO Joe Bright added: “It’s truly exciting that the group is able to continue our relationship with Qiddiya from design into delivery and be part of the Kingdom’s first major theme park and entertainment flagship.”

The announcement comes after Scruffy Dog’s M.A.D Models division was contracted to create a scale model of Tír na nÓg, an upcoming themed land at Ireland’s Emerald Park.

The result of a €22m (US$24m, £19m) investment, the new themed land will span 26,000sq m (283,000sq ft) and feature two new rollercoasters.
