The highly-anticipated Katmandu Park Punta Cana has opened in the Dominican Republic.
The park, developed by Falcon’s Beyond Global, is a “big experience/small footprint” theme park, delivering “world-class” experiences within a smaller landscape.
Katmandu Park Punta Cana has been described as the ‘Caribbean’s first world-class theme park’ offering cutting-edge rides and attractions themed around the company’s proprietary franchise: ‘The Hidden Realms of Katmandu’.
Attractions include Challenge of the Mad Mage, an interactive theatre experience where guests, challenged to a blaster duel, are able to impact the onscreen action as it unfolds. The attraction is powered by Falcon’s Beyond’s ON!X Theater unit and features a cinema-style screen and motion seats equipped with vibration, wind, air blast, water mist and scent effects, as well as localised speakers in the headrests.

Legend of the Desirata is a 4D dark ride that combines a dynamic ride vehicle with projection, audio-visual effects and physical sets to tell the story of Katmandu.
Meanwhile, the Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer is a flying theatre attraction that promises a ‘unique sensation of flying’ and takes guests on an underwater mission in search of a sea monster.
The line-up is completed by EtherQuest an interactive walkthrough attraction where guests are pitted against a powerful foe and must use various interactive props to defeat them.
Other attractions include a 36-hole mini golf course, an outdoor ropes course, and a Katmandu-themed carousel, while a retail, dining and entertainment complex is planned for 2025.
Storytelling is seamlessly integrated throughout the experience, with an episodic storyline about Katmandu unfolding as guests make their way around the park. The storyline has been matched to the attractions to further immerse guests, while also enabling them to enjoy each attraction independently.

The park also offers an interactive guest experience in the form of BeyondME, a free-to-use loyalty and online gaming platform that connects real-life in-park experiences with digital elements including mobile gaming and online shopping.
Guests gain access to BeyondME via a smart wristband that stores attraction passes and enables cashless payments. Using BeyondME guests will be able to create a BeyongME identity, design an avatar, collect and spend experience points (XP) and level up to receive more rewards.
Finally, the park aims to provide a ‘resortainment’ guest experience and is connected to several premier resort destinations, the first of which is Falcon’s Resort by Meliá All Suites Punta Cana, located just minutes away from the park.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the opening date for Katmandu Park Punta Cana, which seamlessly blends first-of-its-kind amenities and attractions with premium hospitality for the ultimate escape,” said Falcon’s Beyond CEO Cecil D. Magpuri.
“Being at the forefront of experiential innovation is a core value for Falcon’s Beyond and we look forward to providing guests with an experience that helps them create their own adventures in our immersive destinations.”
