John Wick the latest major addition to Area15 as new immersive experience announced for Las Vegas entertainment district

John Wick is the latest major IP to be announced for Las Vegas’s immersive entertainment district Area15, with the new experience taking visitors inside the world of the franchise as they navigate their own high-stakes action adventure

Set to cover 12,000sq ft (1,100sq m), guests will walk straight into the world of John Wick through the doors of the Continental - the centrepiece location of the franchise’s universe.

From there, visitors will navigate a high-stakes adventure where individual groups of guests will be given missions, each playing out in different ways and featuring hotel staff, assassins, crime bosses and iconic characters from John Wick. In addition to their own John Wick experience, guests will also be able to visit a themed bar, as well as explore a retail shop also open to the public independent of the attraction.

“One of the things I love about the John Wick franchise is the idea that there’s a whole world of alliances and vengeance hiding in plain sight - all converging within the worldwide locations of the Continental,” said Jenefer Brown, EVP and Head of Global Products and Experiences at Lionsgate.

“This experience draws fans into that world like never before, and Area15 is an ideal place for fans to live out the fantasy, action and danger portrayed in the films.”

Experience design attractions company Egan Productions is working alongside filmmaker Chad Stahelski and his company 87Eleven Entertainment on the project’s development. Egan Productions previously wrecked on The Official Saw Escape, which opened in Las Vegas in 2018, and Escape Blair Witch, which opened in 2021.

“It’s always gratifying to see people embrace your story and characters, whether on the big screen or with a fully immersive experience like this one,” said Stahelski. “The teams at Lionsgate, AREA15 and Egan really dive into this world, and I’m excited that fans will experience it live in Vegas.”

The John Wick Experience is the latest addition announced to Area15, which is fast becoming a key entertainment location for Las Vegas. Featuring a range of immersive attractions including Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, a new permanent attraction from Universal dubbed ‘Horror Unleashed’ was announced in 2023. iFly Indoor Skydiving was also announced as coming to the district last year, while Illuminarium Las Vegas launched a space-themed experience on the site. Fans of heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold even got a look in with a chance to hear the band’s new album inside a 360-degree immersive experience.

“We are enormously proud Lionsgate selected AREA15 for the John Wick Experience, which elevates our growing roster of premier experiences yet again,” said Winston Fisher, CEO, Area15. “Now, we look forward to welcoming even more visitors and fans of the franchise. After all, you never know who you’re going to meet in Las Vegas and, with this addition, it will be even more mysterious, intriguing and mind-blowing.”

John Wick is one of Lionsgate’s biggest IPs, with last year’s smash hit John Wick: Chapter 4 earning US$440m (€408m, £349m) in the US box office. A spin-off series, The Continental: From the World of John Wick has also landed on streamer Peacock. John Wick already features in some high-profile visitor attractions, including Motiongate at Dubai Parks and Resorts, which features a full Lionsgate zone and the S&S-designed John Wick: Open Contract coaster.
