One of the world’s leading technology solutions providers for the entertainment and leisure sector, Semnox Solutions has enjoyed a strong 2024.

With a host of new products added to its lineup and with the many attractions utilising its technology reaping the benefits, it’s in the US market particularly where the company has seen growth.

“Semnox is growing in visibility through big efforts put forth in how we market what we do to our industry,” explains Phil Showler, head of FEC Sales for Semnox Americas, speaking to Planet Attractions.

“The US market has been strong because we have a good client base there. Operators and owners in the industry recognise us for our work.”

Semnox provides state-of-the-art cashless and ticketing solutions for attractions such as theme and adventure parks, waterparks, Family Entertainment Centers (FECs) and arcades, as well as food courts, restaurants, activity play areas, museums, zoos and more.

The company’s prime offerings include Parafait - a solution for indoor venues; Tixera Park Solution, which focuses on the outdoor entertainment segments; and Deliko F&B Solution for restaurants, food courts, and more.

Semnox’s cashless offerings include wireless debit cards and readers, POS, inventory and redemption, waivers, self service kiosks, party booking, lockers, F&B sales, customer apps, and digital signage.”

Among its three primary brands, Parfait offers a complete solution for indoor FEC-style venues. This includes the integrated Venue Management system, which allows attractions to automate and streamline operations through both the digitisation and gamification of attractions.

Tixera, meanwhile, offers a solution focusing exclusively on theme and waterparks, as well as similar Midway attractions. Through the brand, Tixera’s solution combines all aspects of park management, including multi-channel ticket sales, food and beverage service, POS, and capacity control measures.

Finally, Deliko is a complete food court management software tool that allows attractions to manage an entire F&B enterprise with ease.

Looking at Semnox’s individual technology offerings, Radian Smart Wristband is one of the company’s latest innovations, with the patented wearable technology designed for managing time-based activities by sending vibrations or glowing alerts to notify guests that their activity is beginning or ending and the time remaining.

Meanwhile, the KwickFun Mobile Validation App is a cloud-based solution that Semnox has created with the funfair and seasonal event market in mind. According to Semnox, the app is designed to streamline operations by removing the need for investments in both local servers and extensive network cabling. The app also offers a flexible and efficient way to manage validations of customer tickets, creating something Semnox believes to be an ideal solution for operations that are either temporary or constantly changing.

Attraction Kiosk, recently installed at Planet Play in Malta, “revolutionises the way guests engage with attractions”, according to Semnox. A self-service technology, the kiosk features a sleek design and user-friendly functionality, with guests able to quickly browse available options, select their activities, and book time slots using RFID cards, money or e-payment. With the technology, the process is streamlined, reducing wait times and enhancing customer convenience.

The Klimate Outdoor Self-Service Kiosk is another new innovation from Semnox, with the technology built to withstand any weather, from extreme heat to cold winters, ensuring reliable service for outdoor events. Using the machine, customers are able to recharge, top up or add products to their RFID wristbands or cards without hassle, thanks to an easy-to-use interface.

“In 2024 trends we’ve seen include demand for enhanced online services, which are extremely important to owners,” says Showler.

“This includes things such as group and party bookings, and our company road map and new innovations are taking us to a place of making our offering the best for the market that we serve.”

Among its highlights in the US, in August, Semnox announced a partnership with immersive attraction Play Playground in Las Vegas. Located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, the attraction - which caters to adults - features a host of activities designed to stimulate feelings of connection and nostalgia. In the attraction, Play Playground utilised Semnox’s Tixera suite, which handles visitor admissions, online ticketing, POS sales, and the self-service Kompact kiosk. As a result, visitors can easily register cards on the kiosks thanks to Tixera’s registration module.

American Dream in New Jersey also now features Semnox technology, with a major attraction - The Gameroom powered by Hasbro - collaborating with the company on operations. Featuring iconic Hasbro brands including Monopoly, My Little Pony, and Hungry Hungry Hippos, Semnox worked directly with The FEC’s designers and software engineers to create an integrated system, managing activation rights and scoring results, displaying digital scoreboards and score-to-ticket conversions available for prize redemption. The Gameroom also features Semnox’s comprehensive operational solutions, including retail sales and group/party event card fulfilment, facilitated through their online Sales and Attraction Scheduling software.

Happy Place in Florida is a new facility that recently opened its doors, with Semnox technology helping to power the attraction. Offering arcade games alongside F&B, the venue has chosen Semnox to power its prize counter, arcade games and dining experience, with all three elements seamlessly integrated using its tap-to-play RFID card readers.

In North Carolina, Kate’s Skating Rinks has taken advantage of its integrated platform, with the implementation aiming to enhance the attraction’s operational efficiency and visitor experience. Offering all types of skating experiences alongside arcades, party rooms and F&B, the mixed-use attraction has used Semnox’s platform to improve sales, ticketing, gameplay, F&B services, and online party booking.

And it’s not just those US attractions that have utilised Semnox technology in 2024.

“We’ve partnered with a range of independent attractions and FECs across the country, with others at the start of multi-location projects,” says Showler.

“We’re honoured that attractions such as Happy Place, Kate’s Skating Rinks and also Songwriters Across Texas, have all turned to Semnox to provide our strongest management and ticketing solutions.”

Outside of the US, Semnox is also growing, with new offices offering a strengthened presence in Saudi Arabia and the UK, while in Asia it has seen a number of openings and partnerships.

Its UK office opened in January 2024, with the base in Reading in the south of England acting as a service point for the region, including the wider European markets.

In Saudi Arabia, Semnox has opened a dedicated office in Jeddah as it seeks to solidify its position as a trusted partner for FEC’s theme parks and F&B outlets in the kingdom. Already, Semnox has more than 75 locations in Saudi Arabia that have utilised its solutions.

Across South East Asia, in Malaysia, Semnox has successfully implemented its Parafait Suite at Fun X World and Fun X Golf, with its technology helping to streamline guest operations at the attractions. Meanwhile, in Thailand, Semnox has formed a strategic partnership with Beat Active - a premier sports and entertainment venue in the Southeast Asian market. As part of their partnership, Beat has implemented Semnox’s multi-sales platforms, waiver management, access management and F&B solution to streamline operations and enhance guest convenience.

“We are expanding our Sales Partner team to help the Semnox Solutions brand and its industry-leading technologies be known throughout North America and across the globe,” says Showler.

“This year has been tremendous for Semnox with the opening of new offices in the UK and Saudi Arabia, enhancing our strong presence in key regions such as the US, Latin America, MENA, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

“These expansions enable us to better serve clients and tap into growing markets. With a robust global network, Semnox is poised to drive innovation and support our client’s growth in the entertainment and leisure industry. We hope to help more owners deploy the efficiencies in our system to help them be profitable when they become a new Semnox customer.”

The Semnox Solutions team is exhibiting at IAAPA Expo 2024. Taking place at the Orange County Convention Center from November 18th-22nd, IAAPA Expo acts as the global meeting point for attractions owners, operators and suppliers from across the world. Semnox will be on hand at the event to showcase its range of solutions at Booth #20236
