Following the news that IAAPA’s current president and CEO, Hal McEvoy, will retire in 2023, the search for his successor is officially on, with the global attractions body seeking applicants for the position.
After 46 years of working in the attractions industry, Hal McEvoy announced in April this year that he would retire on April 1, 2023.
Following his announcement, IAAPA said that it would conduct a global search for a new president and CEO, with that search led by the IAAPA President and CEO Search Committee.
For the would-be new president and CEO of the organisation, IAAPA is seeking someone who will help ensure long-term success and relevancy for the attractions industry by helping deliver memorable and safe experiences for visitors worldwide.
In the role, the new president and CEO will serve as a leader, advocate and spokesperson for IAAPA, also taking responsibility for the association’s global operations and workforce across four countries, including its annual trade shows and expos. They will also be responsible for advocacy and global membership engagement.
“I'n accordance with the IAAPA president and CEO search policy, a committee of association members are hard at work to ensure that the next association leader will be the best fit - with the right combination of experience and drive to keep moving the association forward,” said IAAPA in a statement to Planet Attractions.
“The committee has engaged with the international executive search firm Korn Ferry to assist in the global search. As always, we remain committed to serving members, facilitating meaningful networking, and focusing on positive, safe experiences for employees and visitors.”
