FlowRider, a WhiteWater company specialising in artificial surf experiences, will expand its product line with two new additions: Flow Curl and FlowSurf.
A hybrid of two existing experiences - Flow Rider Sheet Wave and Flow Barrell - Flow Curl offers a more gentle surfing experience.
The attraction is separated by an inflatable divider, with one half of the experience designed for novice surfers to learn and play, while the other side offers a more traditional surfing experience.
Described as the culmination of more than 30 years’ experience, FlowSurf was inspired by river waves and causes a deep flow of water, which enables guests to use a real surfboard to carve a never-ending wave.
The technology was inspired by the Waimea River Wave, a surfer-caused phenomenon in Hawaii where the Waimea River overflows into the ocean, creating a ‘silky-smooth’ surface that surfers can carve on.
The announcement was made during a press conference at this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe, currently underway at London’s ExCel centre.
