Avengers Campus unveiled at Disneyland Paris ahead public grand opening

The Avengers have assembled, this time in Paris for the launch of Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris with stars Brie Larson, Pom Klementieff and Iman Vellani (and even Bob Chapek) all on-hand for the spectacular opening event

A fireworks spectacular concluded the opening ceremony for Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris

Disney CEO Bob Chapek and Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson were among those on hand this week for the inauguration of the hotly-anticipated Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris.

Opening to guests on July 20, The Avengers are leading the way for Disneyland Paris’ 30th-anniversary celebrations, with Avengers Campus coming to Europe following a successful debut in the US at Disneyland last year.

Like its US counterpart, the French version of the attraction also features Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, while the existing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, has undergone an Iron Man and Captain Marvel retheming, with the attraction rechristened Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.

The new area of Disneyland Paris will also feature a character experience with Spiderman as part of the Mission Control Heroic Encounter Facility.

Restaurants also include the Pym Test Kitchen and Avengers Canteen Service, while merchandise outlets feature Stark's Test AI Mall and W.E.B. Suppliers.

For the launch ceremony, Captain Marvel was joined by Captain America, Spider-Man and Iron Man, with the team initialising an arc reactor to power up the land, culminating in a firework display over the Quinjet platform.

“To be a Marvel fan in this place is going to be so surreal,” said Larson. “You can get dressed up, you can go practice being a superhero, there are training facilities - it’s all here.

“There’s also going to be a lot of easter eggs, things that you’ll see if you’re a true Marvel fan.”

In addition to Larson, Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis, and Iman Vellani, better known as Ms Marvel, were also in attendance for the launch.

“This is such an amazing year for Disneyland Paris,” said Disneyland Paris president Natacha Rafalski.

“Back in March, we kicked off our 30th-anniversary celebration inviting guests to enter into a new era with us. As part of this tremendous milestone for our resort, Marvel Avengers Campus marks a significant step forward in the ongoing expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park and our overall transformation, with original storytelling and a uniquely engaging experience.”
