2024 is shaping up to be a dynamic year for Alterface which is looking ahead to a number of new ride openings.
While the majority of Alterface’s projects remain confidential, the company’s development pipeline features a variety of attractions ranging from well established interactive dark rides and theatres to more innovative concepts.
Among its projects in 2024, one of the most highly-anticipated is SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride, which has just opened its doors at Circus Circus in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Designed by Sally Dark Rides and featuring Alterface interactive technology, the interactive attraction takes visitors through the seafloor with vibrant sets, special effects, animatronics, and vivid integrated projections.
On the ride, Mr. Krabs invites riders to try their luck at a collection of midway games as they move through his new money-making carnival. SpongeBob and Patrick, who are trying to assist him, accidentally grab boxes of Krabby Patty ingredients instead of the carnival game equipment. The devious Plankton sees an opportunity to steal the 'Krabby Patty' recipe and hatches a plan to acquire the formula.
In May, Alterface will debut MovieMax, a compact interactive solution promising to revolutionise entertainment on-the-go. Themed to look like a vintage Hollywood movie theatre, with marquee signs, lights and ticket and photo booths, Moviemax offers a choice of four films and features 3D technology, as well as a variety of special effects, including wind, water, smoke and stroboscopes to immerse guests in the on-screen action. Targeting fairs and other touring attractions, Moviemax is housed inside a container, which can be transformed into a 12-seat theatre in just two or three hours.
Excitement is also building for Action League Interactive Thrill Ride - a first-of-its-kind product featuring Alterface’s Popcorn Revenge IP. Now scheduled to open in June at Suzhou Paradise Forest World, China, The Actional League Compact Edition can accommodate up to 288 riders per hour and is an interactive tournament featuring interactive shooting, competitive gaming, and movement with a rotating platform.
In addition to its already announced products, 2024 will see Alterface debut numerous projects, each with its own unique story.
“For each venture, we adapt to diverse roles, serving as turnkey providers, supplying interactive technology, or providing expertise in project management, concept and gameplay design,” said a company statement. “2024 is set to be an exceptionally busy year for Alterface.”
