Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure in Norfolk, UK, has revealed details of an extensive expansion plan that will see the creation of a new immersive land.
Park operators have submitted a planning application for a four-acre interactive play land to Broadland District Council. If approved, the ambitious expansion will be carried out in phases.
Phase one will include several interactive play concepts, a vertical volcano-themed ride, teacup rides, two jumping pillows, a high play den and a Jurassic-themed entryway, as well as food and beverage and retail outlets.
Theme park design firm Katapult has signed on to create the new land and will work in partnership with Liz Lake Landscape Architects. A team of planning and design consultants, including Pegasus Group, Adrian James Acoustics, Plandescil, WildWings Ecology, Cheffins and Chaplin Farrant will also be working on the project.
According to Katapult, the new land will be set inside a grassland with trees and plant life to encourage biodiversity and will be ‘thoughtfully designed to enhance the sensory family play experience’.
“This project has been three years in the planning, and we are hugely excited to finally submit the full extent of our ambitious expansion, which is designed to provide gentle and exhilarating play opportunities for children up to the age of ten,” park director Adam Goymour.
“We know how valuable parks like Roarr! are for encouraging families to spend precious time together, and that this has a positive and lasting effect on children’s confidence, development and self-esteem. The park has always provided a backdrop for fun and play, and these new features are really going to bring an exciting experience to ROARR!’s fans and visitors.”
“We’re determined that Roarr! will become a UK-wide destination and these plans highlight our commitment and significant investment in the business as well as Norfolk’s thriving and healthy visitor economy. We’re working with a first-class team of designers and consultants to bring this project to fruition, and the whole team is looking forward to seeing the results of the extensive work which has gone into the project so far,” he added.
Katapult co-founder and chief creative officer Phil Higgins said: “It’s been a great opportunity for us to bring our experience of working with both global and UK attractions, to design a truly immersive and interactive new land with family fun at its heart.”
