The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visited a number of entertainment venues to show their support for the sector

The Prince of Wales has told artists and performers that he is “praying” for more entertainment and culture venues to be able to reopen soon.
The comments came following a visit to London’s Soho Theatre, which the Prince and Duchess of Cornwall had attended to show their support for the British capital’s culture scene.
Following a performance by Natasha Marshall, who acted out part of her play Half Breed, the Prince told her: “I really enjoyed the performance and I am praying all of you can open soon. I wish you every success."
Prince Charles and Camilla also visited a number of entertainment venues across London, including music venue the 100 Club, which has seen acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Jam and Oasis perform there since its opening in 1942.
With the UK having just ended its most recent lockdown and entering a strict three-tier system, some of the country’s entertainment venues are officially reopening for socially-distanced performances.
London is currently in tier two, which means that visitor attractions, entertainment businesses and venues may open but early closure at 11PM applies to many.
Capacity is also restricted to whichever is lower: 50% of total capacity up to a maximum of 2,000 people outdoors or 1,000 people indoors.
The Soho Theatre has also launched a new series of stand-up shows featuring comedians such as Nish Kumar and Josie Long. Called Soho Theatre Live, the three-season deal with Amazon Prime brings in some much-needed funding for the theatre, which has been closed for most of the year thanks to COVID-19.
