Olivia Colman, Adrian Lester and Jessie Buckley among performers set to appear in new National Theatre interview series

Life in Stages is a brand-new conversation series from the National Theatre profiling some of the biggest names in British theatre

Several major names in the world of acting are set to be featured in a new interview series launched by the National Theatre in the UK.

Actors, actresses and directors will all feature, with weekly episodes of the interview series to be released for free on YouTube, with viewers able to support the organisation if they so choose with text donations of £5, £10, or £20.

Filmed on the empty Lyttelton stage, each episode features a pair of creatives reflecting on their stage careers, and revealing the funny, personal and poignant stories behind everything from their earliest theatre memory to their biggest professional highs and lows.

Episode one will feature a conversation between Oscar winner Olivia Colman - known for her appearances on shows including Peep Show, and The Crown - and National Theatre director and joint chief executive Rufus Norris. Norris and Colman previously worked together in Lucy Kirkwood’s Mosquitoes, which saw Norris direct and Colman play the role of Jenny.

Episode one will be released on April 22 at 7PM GMT, with the series supported by Charles Stanley Wealth Managers and Arts Council England.

Other confirmed episodes include Jessie Buckley and Josh O’Connor - stars of the National Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet- as well as a discussion between actor and director Adrian Lester and comedian Meera Syal. These episodes will be streamed on April 29 and May 6.
