Surftown MUC - an upcoming surf park featuring WhiteWater’s Endless Surf wave technology - has officially broken ground.
Set to open in 2024, the attraction in Munich, Germany, will offer a wide variety of activities, primarily authentic running waves that can be generated every 10 seconds for up to 180 meters.
The official groundbreaking ceremony took place July 28, with representatives present from the political, business and surfing communities.
“The vision for Surftown MUC is revolutionary,” said Rainer Maelzer, president of WhiteWater's European Region.
“This is undoubtedly a world-class surf park in the making, and we are thrilled to bring it to life and add to Munich’s growing reputation of being a European powerhouse for action sports. Plus, with our European regional team local to Munich, we've got quite a bit of hometown pride for this one.”
The attraction is currently slated to test operations in late 2023 and officially open to the public in the spring of 2024.
