The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, UK, is about to launch a brand new attraction, with an immersive 4D experience coming to the heritage attraction on March 31.
Called Dive the Mary Rose 4D, the show will shed light on the untold story of finding, excavating and recovering the famous ship known to be the favourite of King Henry VIII.
Through the experience, the iconic raising of the ship in 1982 - considered to be a major moment in British history - has been brought to life through a combination of archive footage and CGI, as well as multi-sensory features including sound, smell, and movement.
“Never in the history of the Mary Rose Trust have we undertaken such a monumental expansion,” said Dominic Jones, Mary Rose Trust CEO. “This is a world-class immersive experience not to be missed.”
The Mary Rose Trust has partnered with Figment Productions to make the experience a reality for visitors to the museum. The digital media production company has previously used cutting-edge technology and has worked with brands including the National Trust, Royal Opera House and Legoland.
