To mark the Eurovision Song Contest’s return to the UK, and to honour the competition’s hosts Ukraine, the iconic London Eye will be lit up in the colours of both the UK and Ukrainian flags.
Lit up in a unique design splitting the well-known wheel’s lights between the red, white, and blue of the Union Flag and the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian Flag, the London Eye will also become a live scoreboard with its many lights flashing in Ukrainian or UK colours every time either country is awarded the coveted 12 points.
“It was important for us to honour Ukraine as the official host of the event, so we’ve designed the first-ever dual flag light-up for the attraction to mark this unique and special show,” said Imran Tauqir, general manager of the London Eye. “We wish both Ukrainian and UK entries the best of luck and we hope they both win top points on Saturday to dazzle the London skyline with our live scoreboard.”
