Dynamic media-based attractions specialist Simworx is set to showcase several new projects at this year’s IAAPA Expo, including the launch of the company’s first Pegasus Flying Theatre attraction in Europe.
Opening to the public in November, the Pegasus Flying Theatre is a scalable attraction that offers a thrilling and immersive guest experience for venues of all sizes and capacities.
First launched at IAAPA 2022 – where it was nominated for a prestigious Brass Ring Award in the ‘Best New Product Concept, Major Ride or Water Park Ride’ category – the Pegasus Flying Theatre is based on a modular unit system that can be custom-designed to meet layout and footprint requirements. The ride features dynamic motorbike-style seating, a 4k projection system and surround-sound audio.
“Pegasus’ core aim, and where its greatest innovation lies is in its scalability and affordability,” Simworx CEO Terry Monkton told Planet Attractions.

The company will also be presenting its new turnkey attraction concepts: Zombie Metro Mayhem and Overdrive, alongside its entire portfolio of media-based attractions.
Designed to showcase the storytelling capabilities of Simworx’ Metro Mover attraction, Zombie Metro Mayhem takes riders on a frightening and suspenseful journey through a post-apocalyptic cityscape overrun by zombies. Overdrive, meanwhile, utilises Simworx’s AGV Dark Ride technology to deliver an adrenaline-fuelled car chase, with riders roleplaying as cops and robbers as they speed through a city.
“Building upon the success of this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe in Vienna, we are delighted to bring our exceptional product offering to Orlando, where we aim to shine a spotlight on the boundless potential that our range can offer a wide variety of customers including theme parks, FECs, museum, zoos and aquariums,” said Simworx business development director, Ralf Schipper.
“We have diligently explored new possibilities within each experience, pushing what is possible and crafting story concepts tailored to every client’s needs.
“Our team is excited to reconnect with our valued customers, suppliers, industry peers, and theme park design partners and we are looking forward to engaging with prospective clients.”.
Schipper will be joined by Simworx CEO Terry Monkton; lead creative Matt Clarkson; digital content creator Nicole Sangster; sales and marketing co-ordinator Clare Monkton and sales agent - Spain and South Rafael Smith at this year’s IAAPA Expo. To book a meeting email [email protected]
