Eden Project renews Volvo partnership through to 2027

The Eden Project in Cornwall has renewed its partnership with Volvo, with the deal continuing to feature a fleet of electric XC40s while also showcasing the new EX30 model

The UK’s Eden Project has renewed a partnership with Swedish vehicle manufacturer Volvo that will see the attraction continue to run a fleet of nine fully electric Volvo XC40 cars that were deployed last year.

Various teams at the eco-friendly attraction rely on the cars daily, while the vehicles are also being used by those involved in the ongoing development of Eden Projects in Morecambe and Dundee.

As part of the deal, the new Volvo EX30 - the brand’s lowest carbon footprint fully electric car to date - is showcased outside the main building of the Cornwall Eden Project. The car is featured in an exhibit that demonstrates how off-street parking can be both practical and aesthetically pleasing, while also contributing to the fight against climate change. The display incorporates planting to enhance biodiversity and a permeable surface to aid in flood prevention.

The partnership also includes an exciting benefit for 2025, as owners of fully electric Volvo cars will receive two-for-one entry to the Eden Project. Additionally, Volvo will continue as a presenting partner for the Eden Sessions, the annual live music series, which will feature performances by artists such as KT Tunstall, Gary Barlow, and Deftones.

In 2025, Volvo will also support the Eden Project’s Nature Connections programme, which focuses on the vital role of connecting young children with nature during their formative years and encouraging a family culture of outdoor exploration. Thanks to this partnership, the Eden Project will be able to double the number of early years sessions, creating an additional 1,250 spaces for children.

“The Eden Project is incredibly proud of our continuing relationship with Volvo Car UK,” said Andy Jasper, CEO of the Eden Project.

“Volvo are not only completely in tune with the Eden Project mission, but they are also leaders in sustainable transport and a huge brand that is recognised and trusted around the world.

“As we approach our 25th birthday next year, there has never been a better time to strengthen partnerships with likeminded organisations. Our ambition is for our relationship with Volvo to grow and deepen, taking on increasing importance as we expand the reach of the Eden Project into new locations in the UK and deliver inspirational conservation projects across the world.”
