Virgin Experience Days - the UK's leading visitor experience gift provider - has appointed Christoph Homann as its new CEO.
Homann replaces Richard Hurd-Wood, who will transition into non-executive roles after having served in the role for almost six years. He joins Virgin Experience Days having previously served as CEO of Wishcard Technologies, a digital gift card company headquartered in Germany.
His experience also includes stints at eBay, Ticketmaster and McDonald’s, where he was instrumental in the global rollout of digital instore kiosks and mobile apps.
“I’m hugely excited by the opportunity to lead Virgin Experience Days in pursuing further success, building on a solid trajectory and with a strong team in place,” said Homann.
“There’s a huge appetite for Virgin Experience Days’ offering as consumers continue to turn to experiences over traditional gifts. I’m grateful to the current team for their support in this process of joining this ambitious business.”
The company has also announced the appointment of Nuria Garcia as chief marketing officer. She joins Virgin Experience Days from WorldRemit, where she served as CMO and supported the company’s international expansion in more than 50 countries.
The move comes as the business enters its next phase of growth in the UK and US experience gifting markets. Experiences on offer through the brand include skydiving, zorbing and supercar driving alongside celebrity chef dining experiences, historical tours, afternoon teas and more.
