Christie has officially unveiled its Sapphire 4K40-RGBH projector, something the company says represents a groundbreaking new addition to the world of visual technology.
Boasting the title of “the world’s first high-brightness hybrid RGB pure laser and laser phosphor projector”, the Sapphire 4K40-RGBH, says Christie, will set new standards for projection in a variety of applications - from visitor attractions to live events.
The new projector features a hybrid illumination system that combines solid-state RGB pure laser technology with a dual laser phosphor system. This innovation enables users to achieve “stunning brightness and colour performance” across a wide range of 2D and 3D formats, both for front and rear projection.
With 36,400 lumens of brightness, the Sapphire 4K40-RGBH delivers vibrant DCI-P3 colour and native 4K resolution, ensuring clarity and lifelike visuals. It also offers high frame rate options, including 4K at 120Hz and 2K resolution at an astounding 480Hz.
One of the standout features of the Sapphire projector is its exclusive Infitec colour comb 3D solution - a technology that significantly enhances light efficiency and expands the colour gamut, resulting in brighter and more immersive 3D experiences. As a result, the technology is ideally suited to high-quality 3D attractions, media-based experiences, and visualisation powerwalls in both permanent and rental installations.
Christie will be showcasing the new Sapphire 4K40-RGBH at the ISE 2025 event, where visitors can see the projector in action at stand #3K500.
“With its unique hybrid illumination architecture, the Sapphire 4K40-RGBH is a flexible solution for 2D and 3D front and rear projection applications,” said Larry Paul, executive director of technology and custom solutions, Christie. “We’re excited to introduce this projector at ISE 2025 and we invite attendees to experience the brilliance of Sapphire in person.”
