Cruise operator Carnival has unveiled Park19 - a new family activity zone set to feature on the operator’s upcoming Sun Princess ship when it sets sail in February 2024.

Sun Princess, the first Sphere Class ship from Carnival’s Princess Cruises, can accommodate 4,300 guests at a time and will offer an array of exciting new dining, entertainment, and activity offerings, as well as luxurious staterooms and suites across a broad spectrum of categories.

On its top deck will be Park19 - an activity space featuring nine engaging activities for the entire family.

Located on decks 19, 20, and 21, activities will include the first Rollglider on a cruise ship, a climbing structure, an open-air observation deck, a high ropes course, leaning tilt walls looking over the side of the ship, a hammock area, a splash zone, a recreational court and a jogging track.

On decks six and seven, younger guests will be able to enjoy Firefly Park - a family play centre for children up to seven years old, while Neon Grove and the Underground will appeal to teenagers with sofas and chairs for lounging, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, plus air hockey, foosball, and skeeball.

"Park19 as the name suggests is a new space created for all our guests, including activities to bring together multi-generational travel families in a location with spectacular views and fun outdoor activities for all,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president.

“The new area was tailored based on guest feedback for more family and group activities spaces.”
