Why is there a redhead living in the Tower of London?

Did you know that people actually live inside the historic Tower of London? One of them being Megan Clawson, who moved into a family apartment in the eastern wall of the Tower last summer.

Did you know that people actually live inside the historic Tower of London? One of them being Megan Clawson, who moved into a family apartment in the eastern wall of the Tower last summer.

An aspiring actor, Megan’s red curls and fairytale princess aesthetic often sees visitors confuse her for a formal part of the heritage attraction. However, it’s her father, Chris, who holds a position as one of 32 Yeomen Warders (Beefeaters) living within the Tower’s walls.

When the Tower was closed to the public due to the pandemic Megan was in her "own little world", walking her dog Ethel in the moat, hanging the laundry up in the castle grounds and sitting on her balcony with views over the grounds to Tower Bridge.

"It's very weird," she said. "I must look insane because I talk to ghosts and ravens.”
