Professionals working in the creative field can now apply for a UAE Cultural Golden Visa, a permit which grants the holder a 10-year residency in the country.
Artists, singers, curators, dancers, musicians or performers are eligible for the long-term visa, which will be verified by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCY).
“Inventors, innovators, and exceptional talents in vital fields such as culture, art, sports and digital technology can obtain a golden visa regardless of their educational qualification, employment status, monthly salary or professional level. The visa requires a recommendation or approval from a federal or local government entity,” said a government statement.
The Golden Visa programme was first introduced in 2019 with more than 150,000 in various fields taking up the offer.
The scheme aims to draw skilled professionals to the UAE with culture now added to a list of disciplines that includes medicine, sciences and engineering, information technology, business and administration, education, law and social sciences.
