Just ahead of it coming home, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has announced the opening of a new arts space inside the club’s stadium

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is adding a dash of culture to its offering, with the club announcing plans to open a permanent arts space at its home stadium in London, UK, on July 23.
The new gallery occupies Warmington House - a Grade II listed building which sits within the stadium’s walls. The gallery is accessible through the club shop, which on match day welcomes upwards of 20,000 customers. Through a season, up to a million people could visit the gallery, which would make it one of the most visited in the British capital.
The gallery is being launched by OFF - a magazine that discovers and unravels art within football. It will be the only commercial gallery of its kind in the UK.
“We’re not curating shows for art snobs or people who have degrees from Goldsmiths or the Courtauld,” said Eddy Frankel, chief art critic for Time Out and OOF’s co-founder, speaking to The Art Newspaper. “We’re curating specifically for people who would not normally go to a gallery.”
The gallery’s first show, titled Balls, is an exhibition made up of football sculptures.
The opening exhibit will bring together works by the likes of Nicola Costantino, Paul Deller and Dario Escobar. Some works have been sent on loan, though the majority will be available for purchase, with prices ranging anywhere from £2,500 to £50,000.
Balls will run from July 23, with the exhibition concluding on November 21. Entry to the gallery is free and will run Mondays 10am-5pm, Thursday to Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.
