The Designer’s Creative Studio has announced the launch of several new online courses designed to help people forge a career in the themed entertainment sector.
Debuting in January, ‘How to Work in Themed Entertainment’ will first establish a frame of reference for the industry as a whole by examining the many different venues and the other specialty industries that embody it. Students will also explore the many different professional roles that are required to create, build and deliver immersive experiences.
Coming later in the year, ‘The League of Extraordinary Storytellers’ provides a front row seat to insightful, video interviews with industry professionals about every aspect of creating immersive, themed environments.
Finally, ‘Studio Time’ will offer 60-minute one-on-one coaching with Theron Skees - a Disney Imagineer for more than 22 years who most recently oversaw the Disney Cruise Line, with previous projects also including the transformation of Disney Springs, the Tower of Terror and the growth of Hong Kong Disneyland.
“I created the website as a place to inspire, educate and guide all those who are passionate about themed, immersive experiences,” said Skees, founder of the Designer’s Creative Studio.
“I know that in a large, complex industry that’s crowded with multiple players, it’s difficult to break in.
Even if a degree gets your foot in the door, navigating the processes and culture without the right tools can be limiting.
My diverse design and leadership experience from working with the premier brands worldwide, will provide you with the advantages you need to attain and flourish in your dream role.”
