Planet Attractions teams up with UK Theme Park Awards for 2024 edition

Planet Attractions will partner with this year’s UK Theme Park Awards, joining the expert judging panel and acting as media partner once again for the 2024 edition of the prestigious awards

Planet Attractions is partnering once again with the UK Theme Park Awards for its 2024 edition, working alongside the prestigious awards and accompanying show in partnership on both media and judging of the event.

The leading public-facing awards for the UK theme park industry, the UK Theme Park Awards recognise the best rides and attractions, shows and events, as well as the theme parks offering the best customer service and value.

Not only will Planet Attractions work on content in the build-up to the big event, but it will also have a presence at the show itself with the Editor-in-Chief, Tom Anstey, joining the expert judging panel for a second year.

“We partnered with the UK Theme Park Awards for 2023 and loved the experience,” said Anstey. “One of our remits is not only to reflect the work of this great industry but also to highlight the passionate community surrounding it, something the Awards do fantastically.”

The 2023 edition of the UK Theme Park Awards saw Chessington named Theme Park of the Year, thanks in part to its brand-new Jumani-themed coaster and wider themed area. The awards proved to be wildly popular, with the 2023 edition seeing 229,427 public votes cast.

From now until June 12, nominations for the 2024 awards are open, with the public able to submit a nomination at ukthemeparkawards.com. Ahead of the public vote later in the year, a shortlist will be compiled using the public nominations and with the help of the judging panel.

Once a shortlist has been finalised, the public vote will take place from July 22 until September 1. These votes will be combined with the judges to generate the final results, which will then be announced in this year’s awards, taking place on September 19.

“We're delighted to have Planet Attractions on board as a media partner in 2024, and with his extensive knowledge of the attractions industry, Tom is ideally placed to join the judging panel once again,” said Lawrence Roots, founder of ThemeParks-UK.com.

“The awards are returning bigger and better this year, as the public interest continues to grow. It will be the fifth year that we celebrate all of the biggest achievements at theme parks around the UK.”
