Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland in California, US, is set to get a complete overhaul for the second time in its 59-year history, with the attraction to be rethemed with a new IP in 2022.
The walkthrough experience marks the boundary between Adventureland and New Orleans Square at Disneyland and will undergo a full reimagining, according to reports. It’s not yet known what that will look like, but online sleuths are having a guess at Disney’s smash hit Encanto for the theme.
The attraction originally opened in 1962 as the Swiss Family Treehouse. In 1999, it was closed and rethemed, reopening in June of that year for the theatrical release of Tarzan.
Construction on the reimagined attraction is already underway, with the treehouse closing in September last year for renovations.
