Nominations are open ahead of the sixth edition of the annual MENALAC Awards, with the event set to celebrate the best in class for leisure and attractions in the MENA region

Dubai’s Sky View Hotel will play host to this year’s MENALAC Awards on March 6th, with the prestigious event bringing together top names in the industry to celebrate attractions across the Middle East and North Africa region.
Run by, and taking their name from, MENALAC - the Middle East and North Africa Leisure and Attractions Council - the awards are currently accepting nominations across 27 categories, with each designed to shine a spotlight on the achievements of its participants while also challenging them to constantly strive for excellence to implement best practices, innovate offerings and delight visitors.
“The MENALAC Awards ceremony illustrates the pivotal role of the leisure and entertainment sector in region’s long term diversified economic strategy,” said Mike Rigby, head of the MENALAC Event Committee, as well as general manager and regional vice president – Middle East and India for WhiteWater.
“Our Awards recognise the incredible efforts, achievements and strengths of everyone involved in the leisure industry across the MENA region. In addition, these events allow shared knowledge and expertise across our membership base that helps the industry to evolve and grow.”
Once the nomination process concludes on January 31, a jury panel will judge the nominations against set criteria in each category. Among this jury, It was recently announced that Planet Attractions’ Editor-in-Chief, Tom Anstey, would be joining the Non-Operator Jury Panel, which judges across 10 of the award categories.
The awards ceremony comes alongside a backdrop of robust growth outlook for the regional leisure and entertainment industry in the MENA region, which is expected to welcome around 250 million visitors annually by 2028, contributing US$14bn (€12.7bn, £10.9bn) to its economy.
