Rogue Rides, a new brand from BoldMove Nation, has announced the launch of a new omnidirectional trackless ride system it says is set to redefine the dark ride experience.
The system's first model, The Lola, offers cutting-edge precision engineering that delivers seamless mobility and immersive, dynamic experiences. The trackless technology allows for vehicles to navigate without the constraints of traditional rails or cables, offering greater flexibility in ride design. This next-generation system, says the maker, ensures a smooth ride through high-precision sensors, advanced show control software, and enhanced safety features, making it ideal for creating thrilling and customisable attractions.
Featuring continuous battery recharging capabilities and easy maintenance, the ride system is optimised for high-volume, long-duration use. Rogue Rides’ omnidirectional technology introduces “unparalleled freedom for ride movement”, allowing vehicles to move forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally. With this technology, ridemakers can explore new directions when it comes to storytelling, with smoother transitions between scenes and more dynamic movements that heighten the thrill for riders. Utilizing advanced Mecanum wheel technology and SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) for pinpoint navigation, the system guarantees a precise and exhilarating experience for visitors.
"I built dark rides around the world with all kind of vehicles from different manufacturers. However, I hadn't seen one that moves the way we want in order to make the experience more dynamic and immersive,” said Benoit Cornet, CEO and captain of creative minds for BoldMove Nation.
“We often work with regional parks who have more limited budgets and want to fit a dark ride into an existing building. With Rogue Rides we address these issues, and so much more: the vehicles can run all day as batteries are recharged continuously, and maintenance is easy. We can equip the vehicles with sound and interactivity, align them with media and AV through advanced show control software. The movements of the vehicles allow for a very dynamic experience that is truly unmatched up until today."
According to Rogue Rides, the ride vehicles can be fully customised to complement any attraction’s narrative. Custom options include LED lighting, seat fabric choices, lap bar materials, and stamped logos, ensuring a high-end and immersive experience tailored to the specific needs of each park.
The system is designed for ease of use, with an intuitive control panel for operators that simplifies the integration of special effects, AV components, and show control. This streamlined approach allows for efficient ride management while maximising the guest experience.
