Location-based experiences the focus as registration opens for Brand Licensing Europe 2023

Location-based experiences are taking centre stage at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe event, which is now open for registration ahead of its return to London’s ExCeL in October

Registration is now open for Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) - the continent’s largest trade show exploring brand and licensing opportunities.

Taking place from 4-6 October inside London’s ExCeL, the event was created to bring together thousands of brand owners, retailers and manufacturers as they seek to create new branded products and visitor experiences designed to connect audiences to their favourite IPs.

More than 150 companies from around the world are set to exhibit at the London show, with brands including Paramount, Hasbro, FC Barcelona, the Natural History Museum, The Pokémon Company and many more all listed for this year’s event.

Between the brand owners, thousands of IPs are represented on the show floor from a range of different areas - from animation to sport. These include the likes of Asterix & Obelix, The Batman, Jurassic Park, Sonic the Hedgehog and more.

The theme of this year’s show is rooted in attractions, with a special focus placed on location-based experiences (LBE). A licensing category that has grown exponentially in value and creativity since the end of global lockdown restrictions, LBE is a hot topic, with the value of the sector increasing by 67% last year.

To further explore LBE, the show will feature two LBE-focussed keynote speeches on 4 and 5 October, while the LBE Pavilion will offer immersive content created for visitors to walk through and interact with.

“If you thought last year’s BLE was an incredible experience with the fashion catwalks, wait until you get to ExCeL in October and see how the LBE theme manifests; it’s going to be one of the most fun, entertaining and genuinely inspiring BLEs ever,” said Ella Haynes, BLE event director.

“What’s really exciting is that LBE is for everyone – whether you’re a retailer, licensee, designer or brand owner, I promise you will take away great ideas, contacts and content from this year’s show.”
