Jurassic World: The Exhibition, a major travelling exhibition themed around the Jurassic World movie franchise, will return to North America later this year.

The exhibition is scheduled to open at Grandscape in The Colony in Dallas, Texas, on June 18, 2021.

Produced by Round Room Live and Cityneon in partnership with Universal Parks and Resorts, the exhibition first opened in Melbourne, Australia, in 2016. It’s since gone on to become a global phenomenon, welcoming nearly three million visitors from Paris, Madrid, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seoul, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Spanning 20,000sq ft (1,858sq m), the immersive experience gives guests a taste of what it would’ve been like to exist at the same time as dinosaurs, bringing guests face-to-face with favourites such as the velociraptor, brachiosaurus and the mighty tyrannosaurus rex.

Visitors enter the experience through the iconic ‘Jurassic World’ gates, entering a richly-themed immersive area, where they encounter life-sized dinosaurs and can even interact with baby dinosaurs, including Bumpy, a baby ankylosaurus, from the animated Netflix series; Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

“What excites us about Jurassic World: The Exhibition is the opportunity to give fans a real-world immersive experience based on the amazing adventures of the films and delivered to a location near them,” said Michael Silver, president of global business development at Universal Parks and Resorts.

“Visitors will come face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs and walk through richly-themed environments all inspired by the blockbuster franchise.”

Ron Tan, executive chairman and group CEO of Cityneon, said: “Combining state-of-the-art technology and proprietary animatronics, Jurassic World: The Exhibition has impressed global audiences from the US, Australia, France, Spain, Korea, China and more.”

“We’re confident that Jurassic World: The Exhibition will continue to exhilarate and entertain families throughout North America.”

Mobile integration

To celebrate the North American launch, Jurassic World Alive, the location-based AR mobile game, is offering visitors to the exhibition exclusive in-game rewards, including a Jurassic World: The Exhibition incubator - an unlockable valuable resources to be used in the game. Players simply open the game on their devices during their visit to receive their rewards.

Players with AR-enabled devices can also take pictures or videos of dinosaurs that they can then share on their social media channels.

Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased at jurassicworldexhibition.com
