World of Barbie - a new immersive attraction based on the iconic Barbie brand - has opened its doors in Toronto, Canada, with the 300,000sq ft (27,870sq m) attraction featuring life-size installations that are designed to capture imaginations and hearts across multiple generations.
Set on the Malibu beachside, Mattel has teamed up with location-based entertainment (LBE) specialists Kilburn Live to develop a new immersive attraction.
The Barbie Dreamhouse is the main attraction, with guests able to explore the house for a number of photo opportunities and start their own patio party using a poolside DJ kit.
The Barbie Camper Van has also been brought to life with the help of the famous vehicle customisation workshop West Coast Customs.
Also included in the neighbourhood is a fashion studio, a TV Studio and a Space Centre. Three other experiences, World of Barbie Museum, World of Barbie Café and Barbie Dreambuilder, also feature.
“World of Barbie has come together in a truly spectacular fashion, with vivid colours, precise design details, and the sheer scope of immersive environments,” said Mark Manuel, CEO, Kilburn Live. “This world premiere is a major achievement in terms of accurately recreating a world that is familiar to so many fans of Barbie.”
Following its debut in Toronto, World of Barbie will tour several cities across North America, including New York, Chicago, and Dallas, among others.
