Disney has revealed a first look at its upcoming Frozen-themed rollercoaster, which is currently under construction at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleigh, the ride is the first rollercoaster to be themed around the Frozen franchise. Once complete, the 978 ft (298 m)-tall, Vekoma-designed coaster will feature sleigh-themed ride vehicles and take riders on a scenic adventure with beloved characters Sven, Olaf and Wandering Oaken.
“Soon you will be able to embark on a scenic ride designed and built by Wandering Oaken himself at Hong Kong Disneyland,” the company shared on Twitter, alongside images of the new rollercoaster.
“The ride will be powered by Olaf and Sven as they work together to pull the sleighs to the top of the lift hill.”
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleigh is one of two attractions, alongside the Frozen Ever After boatride, anchoring the park’s upcoming World of Frozen land, which is scheduled to open in November 2023.
World of Frozen forms part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s largest expansion ever and draws inspiration from Arendelle, the Nordic village where Frozen is set. It will offer several attractions including a character experience, a restaurant and several retail outlets.
Versions of the land are also currently in development at Tokyo DisneySea in Japan and Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris.
