Fantawild’s Glorious Orient theme park opens in China

A new theme park has opened to the public in Jining China, with Glorious Orient the fourth such branded attraction to open from operator Fantawild

July 19 marked the opening of another Glorious Orient park from Fantawild. The new park in Jining, China, marks the fourth to open in as many years and contains four new dark rides and a show ride.

The first Glorious Orient park opened in May 2021 in Ganzhou, marking the first step in a new generation of parks and ride technology. The theme of Glorious Orient is far from the average theme park, focusing heavily on the history of the nation throughout the past couple of centuries. Common subjects on rides include events of the Sino-Japanese war and China’s Industrial Revolution.

All of the major dark rides found at the first Glorious Orient park can be found now in Jining. Zhiyuan Zhiyuan is an indoor boat ride that tells the history of its namesake ship that sunk during a conflict. Railroad Warriors takes riders on a dangerous mission to disrupt a train delivering wartime supplies and Hangar Breakout follows a similar premise in destroying a military air base. Both are motion-based car rides, one ride features the larger and the other one the smaller vehicles that Fantawild manufactures at this moment.

Attractions also opening with more light-hearted subjects include the standard Fantawild flying theatre Let’s Fly, taking riders for views over stunning local scenery, while Sharpshooter is an interactive train ride that invites guests to help prevent future conflicts by having them shoot and destroy cartoon munitions and bombs.

Aimed at visitors from across China, Glorious Orient’s patriotic concept should benefit from the lucrative red tourism industry, where guests visit places to learn about the history and culture of the country.
