Europa Park is celebrating following the launch of Voltron Nevera - the first major coaster to come to the popular German theme park in 12 years.

Created by Mack Rides, the steel coaster sits in Europa-Park’s new Croatia-themed area and excites visitors by reaching speeds of up to 55.9mph (90kmph) and a maximum height of 105ft (32m). With a length of 1,385m (4544ft), the ride is the longest multi-launch coaster in Europe, while its 105-degree launch makes it the steepest of its kind in the world. Voltron Nevera also features seven inversions, four launches and 2.2 seconds of continuous weightlessness. The ride model is a Mack Stryker Coaster, which is also the first of its kind in the world.

According to Europa Park, the ride’s station is inspired by Wardenclyffe Tower - an early experimental wireless transmission station which was both built and designed by Tesla. The 14th coaster in the park overall, the theming takes inspiration from the electricity experiments of the Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla. Powered by Rimac, the ride also pays tribute to Croatian vehicle manufacturer Rimac Automobili and its founder Mate Rimac.

“Croatia has been a core part of the Rimac Group story throughout,” said Mate Rimac. “Our headquarters is on the outskirts of Zagreb, with our new Campus and other construction projects to support our future growth. Our Nevera hypercar also subtly celebrates its heritage, not just in its name, but also in its ‘cravat’ styling features – a symbol of Croatia. So, for us to be involved in the creation of one of the most exciting rollercoasters in Europe right now, hosted within a whole area dedicated to our home country and paying homage to one of my greatest inspirations is a real honour. I hope what we’ve helped to create continues to build Croatia’s stature on the global stage, and also gives Europa Park’s many visitors a taste of the incredible performance of our Nevera hypercar.”

Alongside 'Voltron Nevera', the Croatian-themed area of Europa-Park introduces 'Sunce i Lavanda', an ice cream parlour offering a variety of flavours. The 'Suveniri Nikola' shop presents Croatian-themed souvenirs alongside other park-related products, while the Ćevapčići snack spot serves regional delicacies. The educational exhibition 'Croatian Inspiration' and the 360-degree cinematic experience 'Nikola Tesla’s Beautiful Croatia' in the Dome of Dreams are also part of the new offering, enriching visitors' knowledge of Croatia’s cultural and scientific contributions.
