Navigating through the pandemic and handling operations not only in parks, but across all of Disney’s various outlets, stepping into Bob Iger’s shoes has not been an easy task for Bob Chapek.
Since taking over at the head of Disney, Chapek has had to deal with a number of controversies, namely a feud with Marvel star Scarlett Johansson and a months-long encounter with Florida’s controversial governor, Ron DeSantis, over the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.
According to the Los Angeles Times, those factors have led some industry insiders to question whether Chapek will survive at the head of the company.
Starting today Disney’s board of directors are in Orlando for an annual retreat, where the 11-member body, of which Chapek is a member, thoroughly reviews the company’s businesses and engages in deep dives on strategic questions.
