Unesco’s World Heritage Centre has extended the deadline for its World Heritage Volunteers campaign.

| 22 Feb 2022

Unesco’s World Heritage Centre has extended the deadline for its World Heritage Volunteers campaign.
First launched in 2008 to encourage young people to undertake concrete actions and to play an active role in the protection, preservation, and promotion of World Heritage sites, the World Heritage Volunteers programme consists of action camps organised by youth organisations or institutions in cooperation with multiple stakeholders and partners.
Dubbed “Resilience and Re-mobilisation towards World Heritage”, the latest call to action will see approved projects implemented between June and December 2022.
“To empower the commitment to World Heritage, the World Heritage Centre invites all youth organisations, NGOs, institutions, and public authorities that wish to involve young people in World Heritage preservation through the implementation of action camps at World Heritage sites in 2022,” said a Unesco statement.
The extended deadline sees submissions now open until March 1 2022 at 23:59 CET.
