Bavaria Filmstadt has switched its eCommerce and ticketing operations to Convious, following a new partnership with the experience economy specialist.

The German film studio offers guided set tours and features several secondary attractions, including a 4D motion simulator and a VR Hologate Arena, and needed a platform that was able to meet increasing demand for online ticket sales and could be integrated with its existing POS system.

To fully integrate the two platforms, Convious developers created a bespoke API that would enable both platforms to synchronise in real-time and included several Convious features, including automated emails, financial reporting and online ticket generation.

“Convious has proved to be the perfect platform,” said Stefan Bryxi, head of Bavaria Filmstadt at Bavaria Film Group.

“It has streamlined the arrival experience for guests as they can now scan their own tickets and go straight in. We can keep track virtually of arrivals and begin the tour when the whole group has arrived.

“The Convious team have been fantastic to work with and provided us with a bespoke solution to incorporate our existing POS.”

Bavaria Filmstadt is the latest in a string of German partnerships for Convious, with the company announcing collaborations with three Germany-based companies at the end of last year.
