Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) - the nonprofit resort for children with critical illnesses - has partnered with seven of the US’s top theme parks for a special event
Called Coasting for Kids, a series of Olympics-style events will take place over the summer at a number of parks, including Holiday World in Indiana, Six Flags Over Texas, Kentucky Kingdom, Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Lake Compounce in Connecticut, and Kennywood in Pennsylvania.
At each park, the fundraising events, which take place at various dates between June 5 and September 5, will enable participants to experience the thrill and excitement of their local park, while also giving back to GKTW. Proceeds from the special events will benefit the organisation, helping it to continue in its mission to provide critically ill children and their families with weeklong wish vacations at no cost to them.
"We are grateful for the support of these amazing theme parks," said Give Kids The World President and CEO, Pamela Landwirth.
"Together with Coasting for Kids participants and our generous sponsors, their efforts will help us create priceless memories and unforgettable experiences for children and families facing unimaginable challenges."
Both children and adults are eligible for the event. To participate, click this link, to see the list of participating parks and register online. Those that donate or raise a minimum of US$100 will receive a special Coasting for Kids pass, giving them complimentary access and exclusive perks at the park of their choice, along with a Coasting for Kids t-shirt.
