With Avengers Campus less than a month away from its official launch, Disneyland has ‘assembled’ the attraction’s cast as they show off the Marvel-themed costumes for the first time.
Taking on the roles of the people who bring the Marvel universe to life, cast members in Avengers Campus are known as Campus Representatives and the costumes they wear have been inspired by each individual location within the campus.
For the Spider-Man-themed area, WEB Suppliers will wear pieces that feature modern, techy emblems and materials made of lightweight, breathable fabrics with stretch for movement and flexibility.
In the Pym Test Kitchen, cast members will have a Pym pocket protector, lab coat, hat and tie. Following the theme of Ant-Man, which is based on growing and shrinking technology, each costume features a large Pym Particle on the hat and much smaller pattern on the tie.
For the general campus, the uniform is made up of cargo bottoms, a training shirt and a tactical-inspired vest that are comfortable, lightweight and breathable.
Inspired by Doctor Strange, cast members in the Ancient Sanctum will wear pieces that “cast a dramatic silhouette with rich textures and sewing techniques inspired by the Mystic Arts”.
Finally Campus Representatives at food carts will be adorned in colorful aprons - one inspired by Tony Stark and his desire for Shawarma in the original Avengers film and the other from Guardians of the Galaxy, with ‘Terran Treats’ on offer.
“Our cast members play a unique part in the guest experience,” said Joe Kucharski, senior costume designer at Disney. “These costumes are designed to help them embody their role in this epic story.”
