Over a dozen people have been injured following an incident at Universal Studios Hollywood that saw a tram carrying passengers crash.

Taking place during a tour of the Universal backlot, the four-tram car hit a metal guard rail, “causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers” according to a report from the California Highway Patrol, which added there was “some type of issue” with the tram’s brakes.

Fifteen tram passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment of "minor to moderate injuries," the Highway Patrol said, adding that drugs and alcohol were not considered to be factors. The agency will continue to investigate.
