Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition has made history by becoming the most popular travelling exhibition at Carnegie Science Center in over a decade.
The STEM attraction in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, debuted the Titanic exhibition in October 2023, with more than 82,000 visitors taking in the experience since. This figure, says the museum, surpasses the travelling exhibit attendance record previously held by Mummies of the World: The Exhibition, which was held in 2019.
The Titanic exhibition displays more than 150 authentic artefacts from the cruise liner alongside meticulously recreated rooms from the vessel. When entering, visitors receive a replica boarding pass featuring a real passenger’s name and experience a chronological journey through life on board, including the ship’s construction, the fated sinking, and modern-day recovery efforts.
The exhibition will close on April 15 - the anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking.
