SeaWorld San Diego has announced a retheming of the former Sesame Street Bay into ‘Rescue Jr’ - an interactive play area dedicated to marine animal rescue and conservation.
In the revamped area, guests will be able to meet SeaWorld Rescue team members, and hear about efforts to rescue and rehabilitate animals under care in the park.
A number of new areas will feature, with several existing rides rethemed.
Among them will be a water play area, an obstacle course, a playground and soft play area, and a rescue garage featuring former rescue vehicles.
The Sesame Street IP will move over to the all-new Sesame Place San Diego, a self-contained theme park also operated by SeaWorld and featuring 18 Sesame Street-themed rides and exciting water attractions, a family-friendly rollercoaster and a 500,000-gallon wave pool.
