Royal Caribbean has began construction on its 4th Icon-class ship at a keel-laying ceremony at the shipyard in Turku, Finland.
The as-yet-unnamed ship will join sisters, Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas and Legend of the Seas in 2027.
At the celebration, the very first building block was put into the dry dock, where construction of the ship will take place.
The teams at Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turku also placed a layer of freshly minted coins – which signifies luck – before the keel was lifted and placed.
