Royal Caribbean has received approval to acquire the “ultra-luxury” cruise ship Endeavor, which was originally delivered to Crystal Cruises in 2021.
Renamed Silver Endeavour, the ship will join the group’s Silversea Cruises fleet this month.
The purchase price is reportedly significantly lower that the construction cost, with the US$275m (US$228.7m, €268m) purchase financed through a 15-year loan.
“With Endeavour, we are seeking to grow our world-class fleet to meet the exceptional demand for ultra-luxury expedition cruising, while also enhancing our profitability profile and affirming Silversea's position as the industry's leading ultra-luxury and expedition cruise line,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group.”
