MSC Cruises officially christened its newest flagship, MSC World America, with Hollywood star Drew Barrymore, Godmother of the ship, led the naming ceremony at a special event.
Joined by actor Orlando Bloom, Barrymore’s co-star in MSC Cruises’ "Let's Holiday" campaign, Barrymore said it was “an honour” to be MSC World America’s ‘Godmother’.
“I’ve had a lifelong passion for travel,” she added. “Millions of people will create their own memories aboard this beautiful ship, and I know they'll have a blast experiencing everything it has to offer.”
Designed to redefine the guest experience, MSC World America is the first in the fleet to feature seven distinct onboard districts, each offering its own atmosphere, amenities, and adventures.
The ship embarked on its first public voyage on April 12, 2025, sailing year-round from PortMiami. Its inaugural season features alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops in Puerto Plata, San Juan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Isla de Roatan, and the line’s private island, Ocean Cay.
