Legoland Windsor has unveiled the world’s tallest Lego Minifigure, a character which takes a central position in the new Minifigure Speedway coaster opening later this year.

Standing 30ft (9.1m) tall and weighing around six tonnes, the gargantuan ‘Minifigure’ is called Roxie, with the character kitted out in her own racing suit.

“It’s a big day for all the team at the resort to see the world’s tallest Minifigure, Roxie, take pride of place in our new attraction, Minifigure Speedway,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at Legoland Windsor.

“There’s nowhere else in the world you can see Roxie, she’s entirely bespoke to us here at Legoland Windsor – we can’t wait for everyone to see her.”

A £10m (US$12.7m, €11.6m) investment Minifigure Speedway is the world’s first ever Lego-themed duelling coaster attraction.

Manufactured by Zierer in partnership with Merlin Magic Making, Minifigure Speedway will be the park’s fastest rollercoaster at 35mph (56kmph), with riders choosing one of two teams before travelling forwards and backwards at speed on dual tracks as they race to find a winner.

“Minifigure Speedway is set to get pulses racing when it opens next spring and will be the fun seeker’s favourite amongst families,” added Bull. “Not only will it be the fastest coaster at the resort once complete, but it will also offer a uniquely exhilarating experience.”

Minifigure Speedway is the latest addition to Legoland Windsor, which in recent years has added a world-first Lego-themed indoor golf experience, while the 2023 season also saw the addition of Lego Ferrari Build and Race - an interactive attraction that sees guests create their own Ferrari race car.
