Iger: Apple and Disney merger would have happened if Steve Jobs were alive

Disney’s recently-departed CEO, Bob Iger, has stated his belief that a merger deal between Disney and Apple would likely have “gotten there” over time.

Speaking to CNBC, Iger added that Jobs was passionate about “everything that Disney did” and that the Apple co-founder was always looking at ways to combine “great technology” with “great creativity”.

"I'm pretty convinced we would have had that discussion," Iger said. "I think we would have gotten there."

Iger’s contract with Disney officially came to its conclusion on December 31, 2021, ending a nearly 50-year relationship with the company.

In his last day at the company, Iger took to Twitter to reflect on what he called “the ride of a lifetime".
