The 2025 edition of IAAPA Expo Europe, the premier event for the EMEA region’s attractions and leisure industries, has opened today in Barcelona.
Taking place at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via exhibition centre from September 22 - 26, 2025, IAAPA Expo Europe invites industry professionals from around the globe to explore the diverse landscape of the European attraction’s market.
Billed as IAAPA’s most “ambitious” European expo yet, this year’s event is expected to welcome more than 17,000 attractions industry professionals from more than 100 countries.
Its offerings include a comprehensive education programme, designed to “inspire, educate and connect,” with more than 60 education sessions and 170 speakers addressing key trends such as AI, storytelling, IP, repeat guest visitation, immersive experiences and sustainability.
The show is also host to the largest trade show floor in the event’s history. Opened today (September 23), the trade show spans more than 21,000sq m (226,000sq ft), with more than 700 exhibitors showcasing the latest products, services and innovations.
A host of exciting EDUTours and networking events completes the line-up, with highlights including the new Women in the Industry Lunch and Job Fair, the always popular Leadership Breakfast, and IAAPA’s first-ever cruise-themed EDUTour aboard the MSC World Europa.
“IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 is the must-attend event for the wider European attractions industry,” said IAAPA president Jakob Wahl.
“Over the past years it has grown into a vital platform where operators across the hospitality and attractions sector can discover the latest innovations and gain insights from peers and experts in a wide range of fields.”
Peter van der Schans, VP and executive director of IAAPA EMEA, added: “IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 is a powerful driver for the attractions and the local economy.
“Spain – and Barcelona in particular – is home to a thriving tourism and leisure sector, with world-class theme parks, cultural landmarks, and innovative entertainment experiences. Bringing thousands of industry professionals here not only strengthens our global network but also highlights the region’s important role in shaping the future of attractions.”
Planet Attractions’ will be in attendance on September 26, with editor-in-chief Tom Anstey and editorial director Lauren Heath-Jones roaming the show floor, to bring you the latest news and updates directly from the show floor and meeting the many companies that bring visitor attractions to life.
