Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has held a ceremony to announce the first solar canopy car park project to come up in Hong Kong.
The Disney resort in Hong Kong already features the largest solar site in the territory, with more than 5,000 solar panels. Now adding the solar canopy, the site will generate an additional 200,000 kWh of electricity annually.
“At HKDL, we are not only committed to creating magical experiences but also to fostering a brighter, more sustainable future for all,” said Michael Moriarty, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “The solar canopy project is an important part of our ongoing commitment to taking action for our planet.”
Featuring more than 400 panels, the canopy will provide shelter for 80 parking spaces and will be completed by the end of 2023.
