Fuji-Q Highland - one of Japan’s most-visited theme parks - is adding a new attraction to the park, allowing visitors to make a several stories high drop via a slide from the top of the Fujiyama Tower.

The observation deck at the tower, which reaches the peak of the Togo-manufactured Fujiyama coaster, offers scenic views of the surrounding area, including the awe-inspiring Mount Fuji.

Visitors can of course take the stairs back down but are soon to be offered the chance to slide down instead, with the double corkscrew enclosed spiralling slide descending 55m (180ft) to the ground below.

Called the Fujiyama Slider, the new attraction is scheduled to open in the summer.
